An English rare 18 carat yellow gold half hunter 5-minute repeating keyless pocket watch, made in circa 1882. Jewelled manual wind 3/4 plate movement with polished hammer striking on a gong activated by a slide in the band.
White enamel dial, signed Dent, Cockspur Street, London, black Roman numerals and outer five-minute divisions, blued steel double spade hands, offset subsidiary seconds between 10 and 11, polished hinged case with slide repeat in the band, blue enamel monogrammed back with the initials ‘O.S’ and case maker’s mark C.N E.N for Charles Nicole & Emile Nielsen of 14 Soho Square, London.
