An important English 18 carat gold hunting cased minute repeating astronomical Kew Observatory chronometer with perpetual calendar, Hallmarked London 1886. Very complex precision movement, screwed gold chatons, diamond endstone, lever escapement, repeating the hours, quarter hours and minutes, perpetual calendar considering the different month lengths and leap years, inscribed Certificate Class “A” Kew Observatory. White enamel dial with Roman hours and outer minute divisions, perpetual calendar, moon and moon calendar indication, blued steel hands. Comes with a copy from the Kew archive, it was tested in 1888 and reached 82.0 points. Movement signed and numbered.
