A large French 18 carat gold and enamel open faced verge pocket watch, circa 1795. Very thin verge movement. White enamel dial with Arabic numerals and decorative hands. Case with polychrome enamel portrait on the back over translucent blue engine-turned ground, the front with enamelled rim. Dial signed, movement signed and numbered, case and movement with matching numbers.
