Gold and enamel Belle Epoque cylinder watch
–
A super-thin French 18 carat gold and enamel open faced Belle Epoque pendant watch with bow winding, circa 1905. Cylinder movement. Gilt dial with black Arabic hours, red 12, outer minute divisions and blued steel hands. Unusual case with matt enamel on the back looking like stone, central decorative filigree element, probably platinum, set with a diamond, the front with two fine black enamel inlays. With an extremely rare winding mechanism by rotating the bow clockwise.

This piece is an extremely rare collector’s item, both from a technical point of view and as a jewellery watch. Unfortunately, the watch could not clearly be attributed to any manufacturer, but comparable Belle Epoque watches were sold by such famous jewellers as Chaumet, Asprey or Cartier.
