Unusual antimagnetic chronograph
–
A very rare anti magnetic chronograph in chronometer quality, made by L. Leroy & Cie. In Paris, France, circa 1905. The á goutte (water drop shaped) case of this watch was crafted from 18 carat gold and features a numbered iron cuvette marked ‘Ecran Paramagnétique’. The enamel dial features Arabic radial hours, an outer minutes and seconds track with five minutes and seconds numerals, a subsidiary dial for the seconds at 6 o’clock, a 60 minute counter at 12 o’clock and gold pear hands. The movement is fitted with a precision lever escapement, a chronograph and a minutes counter.
The cuvette, movement and dial are signed.
