Silver quarter repeater by Johann Nicolaus Delle

A very fine German silver triple cased quarter repeating repoussé verge watch, circa 1730. Extremely fine decorated verge movement, repeating the quarter hours, silver cock also decorated with fantasy birds. Decorated dust cap. Silver champlevé dial with Roman hours and Arabic five minutes, a cartouche inscribed Augspurg, decorative gilt hands. Outer silver, leather-covered, transport case with applied decorative gold studs, the second case silver with a repoussé scene from the Acts of the Apostles, in which Saulus became the apostle Paulus, a silver third case, pierced and engraved by hand with leaf tendrils, fantasy birds and mascarons, bell. Movement signed.
