A rare German brass and fire gilt cartouche-shaped single-handed pre-balance verge Renaissance pendant watch, circa 1590. Cartouche-shaped full plate movement, verge escapement, stack freed, three-arm iron balance without balance spring. Case engraved with spirals, flower tendrils and a geometric pattern, a small river pearl hangs from a loop at the bottom of the case. Silver dial with Roman hours, the centre with an engraved view of a town.
