Pocket watch in heavy case with chiselled band

A heavy gold full hunter watch with splendour case, made by the Elgin National Watch Company in Elgin, Illinois, United States of America, circa 1900. The numbered case of this watch was crafted from 14 carat gold, is sun ray engine turned on both sides with a monogram on the front lid, a maple leaf decoration on the back lid and its cuvette has an interesting gift dedication to Sheriff Henry A. Dickson from his deputies, dated Christmas 1901. The beautiful white enamel dial features an outer five minute scale, Arabic hour numerals, a subsidiary seconds dial at 6 o’clock and steel hands. The numbered American movement is fitted with a lever escapement, is marked Double Roller” and is engraved.
The dial and movement are signed.
