A fine and rare, 18 carat yellow gold, hunting cased, keyless pocket watch. Made by E. Howard & Co., Boston, Circa 1883.
Four body case the front and back with foliate and crest engravings, reeded borders to the band and hinged gold cuvette with dedication. White enamel dial with radial Roman numerals, an outer minute ring with five minute Arabic markers, sunk subsidiary seconds dial and blued steel crescent hands.
Nickel three-quarter plate movement with 15 jewels, most in raised screwed gold settings, straight-line calibrated lever escapement, cut bimetallic compensation balance with gold screws, blued steel flat balance spring and swan neck micrometric regulator.
Dial and movement signed, case signed D & Co.
