Gold Captain’s watch with dual time zone and centre seconds

A fine, rare and unusual Swiss 18 carat gold two train Captain’s watch with dual time zones and independent dead centre seconds, circa 1870. Attributed to Girard-Perregaux, La Chaux-de-Fonds. Two train, frosted gilt movement, unusual caliber with central bar bridge straddling both trains and a semi circular barrel bridge securing both barrels, ruby cylinder escapement, three armed, flat rim gilt balance with parachute on the top pivot, blued steel flat balance spring with bimetallic compensation curb on the index regulator, center seconds operated by means of a flirt against the escape wheel. Silver regulator type dial, two meantime dials, one with Arabic numerals, the other with Roman numerals, outer dot minute divisions, outermost seconds divisions, subsidiary seconds and repaired blued steel scotties hands. Engine turned case, the back with initials DV. Gold hinged cuvette. Dial plate numbered and punched HF, reverse of dial numbered and scratched HF.
