Small gold lady’s pocket watch

A fine Swiss 18 carat gold open faced lady’s pocket watch, made by Patek, Philippe & Co in Geneva, circa 1870. The watch has a hinged 18K gold caseback with PPCo hallmark; the cuvette was removed to accommodate a transparent Plexiglas back. It has a Plexiglas dust cover. The white enamel dial features a black railway minute track with red Arabic five minute numerals, black painted Arabic numerals for the hours, and gilded pear shaped hands. The hand wound mechanical movement, signed Patek Philippe, has a cylinder escapement and is numbered. Accompanied by its original box, Patek Philippe Co Genève, with serial number label, and its original certificate of origin and warranty, dated 1870, with serial number.
