A fine French 18 carat gold and enamel scallop shell form pendant watch with concealed dial, circa 1800. Hinged, gilt brass full plate movement with cylindrical pillars, fusee and chain, verge escapement with micrometric potence adjustment, plain three armed brass balance, continental cock pierced and engraved, polished steel endplate, silvered regulation dial. White enamel dial with Breguet numerals, outer minute track and partially replaced blued steel feuille hands. Shell form case, spring loaded front cover reveals the dial, both sides identically decorated with blue, red, black and yellow enamel, fixed suspension ring. Movement signed.
