A very fine and rare English 20 carat gold pair cased repoussé verge pocket watch, Hallmarked London 1724. Frosted gilt full plate movement with divided Egyptian pillars, fusee and chain, verge escapement, three armed brass balance with short flat balance spring, unusual glazed silver cock with pierced and engraved foot, large diamond endstone, silver regulation dial. Gold champlevé dial with Roman numerals, outer minute track, outermost five minute Arabic numerals, original blued steel beetle and poker hands. 51Repoussé outer case, decorated with a scene of Telemachus and Calypso within a rococo cartouche, border decorated with fruits and flowers, bezel decorated to match, the inner case polished and with London Hallmarks. Dial and movement signed.
