A fine Swiss 18 Carat gold lever dress watch inserted in a Mexican 50 peso gold coin, made in the 1970s. Bearing on one side ‘50 pesos, 37.5 gr. oro puro, 1821′ ‘1947’ and the effigy of an angel, on the other side an eagle with a snake in his beak and the words Estados Unidos Mexicanos. Retailed by Meister. Extra flat rhodium-plated movement, Geneva striping decoration, 17 jewels, straight-line lever escapement, monometallic balance adjusted to five positions, self-compensating flat balance spring. Matte silver dial with painted indexes and Arabic quarters, original blued steel baton hands. Solid, polished, and brushed case, on the band the device Independencia y Libertad, cover opening by means of a secret push-piece on the band. Case and movement signed by the watchmaker, dial signed Meister. Accompanied by a fitted box.
