A very fine and rare Swiss 18 Carat gold and split pearl set cylinder pocket watch with matching brooch fitting and key made for the Chinese market circa 1830. Gilt brass 3/4 plate movement, spring barrel, cylinder escapement, three arm gold balance recessed within the movement, flat balance spring, index regulator. Matte and engine turned gold dial with radial Roman numerals set with seed pearls, outer seed pearl minute divisions, engine turned centre and replaced gold lozenge hands. Sprung and hinged bezel set with split pearls and seed pearls, the case back set entirely with graduated split pearls in a radial pattern, pendant and bow decorated to match. Case punched MS and numbered.
