A fine and rare Swiss 18 carat gold hunting cased pocket chronometer, circa 1880. Rhodium plated movement, bar calibre, wavy line decoration, jewelled to the third wheel, pivoted detent escapement, cut bimetallic two armed compensation balance with gold timing and temperature adjustment screws, blued steel Breguet balance spring, index regulator. Hinged gold cuvette with engine turned border. White enamel dial with Roman numerals, outer minute track, subsidiary seconds and original blued steel Breguet hands. Case engine turned with polished borders, interior of the front cover with engraved dedication, reeded band, mastermark PM&F. Dial, cuvette and movement signed, case numbered.
