A fine English 22 carat gold pair-cased repoussé verge pocket watch, circa 1814. Hinged movement, gilt, full-plate with square baluster pillars, fusee barrel and chain, verge escapement, three-arm steel balance with flat balance spring, pierced and engraved cock with diamond end-stone, silver regulation dial. Gold dial, engine-turned centre with Roman numerals on a plain reserve, outer minutes and original blued steel serpent hands. Outer case: two-body hinged, repoussé classic scene to the reverse, foliate decorated bezel, the inner case: two-body, polished, master mark probably RP. The inner case London hallmarked 1814, movement signed.
