A very fine and unusual Swiss silver and gold niëlloed hunting cased keyless lever pocket watch with matching long chain, circa 1890. Rhodium plated movement, Geneva striping decoration, 17 jewels, straight-line lever escapement, cut bimetallic compensation balance, blued steel Breguet balance spring, index regulator. Glazed silver-rimmed cover over the movement. White enamel dial with  Roman numerals, outer minute track and Arabic five-minute numerals, subsidiary seconds and original gold Louis XV hands. Hinged and sprung front of the case decorated with a golden carp in a pool amongst water plants, the back decorated with an octopus amongst water plants, gold bow. Case numbered and with the trademark of Henriod Frères.
