A fine and unusual Swiss silver open faced fob watch with a decorative silver bow, circa 1883. Retailed by Jaques & Marcus, New York, sold on October 16th, 1883. Frosted gilt movement, 15 jewels, cylinder escapement, plain three-arm balance, blued steel flat balance spring, wolf’s tooth winding wheels. White enamel dial with inner black Arabic numerals, minute track with outer gold five-minute numerals and original gold index hands. Polished case, domed glazed dial and matching domed glazed reverse, inner glazed movement cover, inset setting pin with protective guard, mounts for the fob chains to the band. Dial and movement signed by the retailer. Accompanied by an Extract from the Archives.
