Gold and enamel lever dress watch

A very fine and rare French 18 carat gold and painted on enamel open faced keyless lever dress watch, circa 1935. A presentation watch specially made for King Farouk of Egypt. Rhodium-plated movement, 17 jewels, straight-line lever escapement, cut bimetallic compensation balance, blued steel Breguet balance spring, index regulator. Gold hinged cuvette. Matte silver dial with champlevé Paris numerals, outer minute track, subsidiary seconds, engine-turned centre with signature cartouche and original black Breguet hands. Polished case, the back with a finely painted on enamel polychrome coat of arms of King Farouk. Dial signed, case numbered. Comes with the original presentation box with an applied gilt crown.
