A rare French 18 Carat yellow gold keyless dress watch with sector dial, circa 1935.
A polished case, the interior of the back engraved Fernand Chantoin 1907-1937, faceted bow. Brushed silver dial with bold black sector indexes and Roman quarter-hour numerals, outer minute track, subsidiary seconds and blued steel lozenge hands.
A rhodium-plated movement by European Watch Co., 15 jewels, straight-line lever escapement, cut bimetallic compensation balance, blued steel flat balance spring, index regulator. Dial signed Cartier, movement signed European Watch Co., the case with punch marks for Louis Cartier and Edmond Jaeger and numbered.
