A French gold, keyless wind open faced pocket watch with a two tone dial, circa 1935.
This watch features a manual winding nickel finish lever movement with 19 jewels and a lever escapement. The dial is two tone, silvered, and includes guilloché engraving, black Roman numerals set against a brushed surround, a black outer minute track, and blued steel stylised hands. The open faced, polished 18k yellow gold case is centred with Art Deco initials and has a snap on back. Dial signed Cartier, case numbered, movement signed European Watch and Clock Co.

The dial is in excellent condition. The case has minor scratches, and it features a replacement crown.

This exquisite watch perfectly represents Cartier’s golden era. Its two tone slim case is characteristic of the 1920s. The Art Deco initials on the back add a final touch of refinement. The dial is beautifully finished, featuring a mix of smooth and guilloché surfaces. It boasts a double chapter ring, with the minute indications in Arabic numerals on the outer ring and the hour markers in Roman numerals on the inner ring.
