Gold and diamond-set repoussé repeater by Billinghurst

A fine and rare English 22 carat gold repoussé and diamond-set pair cased quarter repeating pocket watch, circa 1765. Gilt full plate movement with tapered cylindrical pillars, fusee and chain, cylinder escapement, brass escape wheel, three-arm steel balance with flat balance spring, singlefooted cock, diamond endstone, finely pierced and chased backplate furniture, silver regulation dial, repeating on a bell activated by depressing the pendant. White enamel dial with Roman numerals, outer minute track with large five-minute Arabic numerals and original pierced gilt hands. Repoussé outer case, master mark TY, finely chased with a scene of the Judgement of Paris, scroll border, pierced soundholes, the bezel decorated to match, thumbpiece set with a large rose-cut diamond, the inner case with master mark HB, deep back, the band finely pierced and engraved with foliage and a grotesque mask. Gilt-brass dust cap. Movement and dust cap signed.
