Damascened silver and gold open faced lever by Ecole d’Horlogerie Max Junod

A fine Swiss damascened silver and gold open faced keyless lever pocket watch with 24-hour dial, circa 1910. Frosted gilt movement, 19 jewels, straight-line lever escapement, cut bimetallic compensation balance with gold temperature adjustment screws, blued steel Breguet balance spring, index regulator. Hinged silver cuvette. White enamel dial with painted black Arabic numerals, outer minute divisions, inner red 24-hour numerals, subsidiary seconds and original blued steel pear and double feuille hands. Damascened bezel, decorated with a repeated pattern, the damascened case back with leaf stripes and repeat pattern border, the centre inlaid with a gold lion rampant and foliate cartouche with engraved initials MJ. Dial and movement signed.
