A fine and rare Swiss steel open faced keyless lever dress watch, Prince Imperial, circa 1940. Rhodium-plated movement, 17 jewels, observatory quality timed in six positions, straight-line lever escapement with Rolex patent protection cap, monometallic balance with screws, self-compensating balance spring. Two-tone silver dial with painted Arabic hours and baton indexes, outer minute divisions, subsidiary seconds at 6 o’clock and blued steel baton hands. A solid, polished case with snap-on back. Dial and case signed, movement signed and numbered. Accompanied by a fitted presentation box.
