Repeater with high relief depiction of the early years of motoring by Tavannes

A fine Swiss silver square quarter repeating pocket watch with a high relief depiction of the early years of motoring, circa 1910. Rhodium plated movement by Lugrin La Chaux-de-Fonds, Geneva striping decoration, 17 jewels, straight line lever escapement, cut bi metallic compensation balance, blued steel Breguet balance spring, index regulator, repeating on gongs activated by a button in the band, centrifugal governor. Glazed gilt rimmed cover over the movement. White enamel dial with Breguet numerals, outer minute divisions, subsidiary seconds and original blued steel spade hands. Polished case, gilt bezel, the hinged back decorated with a high relief medallion depicting an early motor car speeding along a road. Dial signed Tavannes Watch Co, movement signed AL beneath the quarter hammer, case numbered and signed Holy Frères (St. Imier).
