A fine Swiss 18 carat gold hunting cased quarter repeating keyless lever pocket watch, circa 1880. Nickel-plated movement, 25 jewels, the upper ones in screwed gold chatons, a counterpoised straight-line lever escapement, cut bimetallic compensation balance, blued steel Breguet balance spring and an index regulator, repeating on gongs activated by a slide on the band. A hinged gold cuvette engraved with the technical details. White enamel dial with painted Roman hours, outer minute divisions and Arabic five-minute numerals, subsidiary seconds at 6 o’clock, gold faceted stone-set hands. The polished case with a hinged bow. The cuvette is engraved Genève, movement numbered.
