Gold, enamel and pearl-set lady’s pendant watch by Pierre Le Roy

A fine French 18 carat gold, enamel and pearl-set open faced verge pendant watch, circa 1780. Frosted gilt full plate movement, fusee and chain, verge escapement, three-arm brass balance, flat balance spring, continental balance cock with polished steel endplate, silver regulation dial. White enamel dial with Roman numerals, outer minute track and Arabic five-minute numerals and partially replaced pierced gold Louis hands. Louis XVI case, hinged and sprung bezel set with split pearls, gold rope-twist band intertwined with pearls, the back with a panel of translucent royal blue enamel over spotted engine-turning, central pearl-set star and outer pearl-set border. Dial signed.
