An English 18 carat gold key wind quarter repeating open faced pocket watch, London hallmark for 1810. Movement dated 1811, converted from a duplex to a lever escapement in 1907. Gilt full plate converted English lever movement, 3 armed balance, two polished hammers striking on two gongs activated via the plunge repeat, striking mechanism by Matthew Stogden, diamond end stone. White enamel dial, black Arabic numerals, outer minute divisions and gilt spade hands. Polished hinged case, engraved crest and initials to back. Accompanied by a letter from D. Desbois & Sons dated August 1936 detailing the history of the watch and a fitted Russell & Son box. Case and movement signed.
