A rare and early English ivory oval verge watch with stackfreed, circa 1650. Ivory oval verge movement, pierced and engraved balance bridge, stackfreed. Ivory dial plate engraved with a scene of the Creation of Man and raised chapter ring with Roman numerals. The oval case in high relief, the back showing Adam, Eve and the Serpent at the Tree of Knowledge, the front lid with Adam and Eve’s banishment from Eden, the band with grotesques design.
