A French 18 carat rose gold, enamel and pearl set open faced verge watch with matching chatelaine, circa 1795. Gilt finished full plate verge movement, pierced and engraved balance bridge. White enamel dial with Roman numerals. Bezels with split pearls and translucent royal blue enamel over engine turning, the back centered by a scene of a young woman holding a horn of plenty within a classical landscape surrounded by bands of opaque white enamel and blue enameled arabesques designs on the gold ground, blue and white enameled pendant. Dial and movement signed. Gilt metal hinged cover for the watch and a similarly decorated gilt metal and enamel chatelaine.
