Split seconds chronograph lever by Charles Frodsham

A fine English 18 carat gold open faced split seconds chronograph keyless lever pocket watch, circa 1912. Gilt finished 3/4 plate movement with raised barrel engraved with Honor cyphers, lever escapment, some jewels carried in screwed gold chatons, diamond endstone, bimetallic compensation balance. Gold cuvette. Tinted white enamel dial with Roman numerals, outer calibrated fifth seconds ring with Arabic fifth divisions, two subisidary dials for 60 minute register and constant seconds. Polished case with swivel bow and raised push piece, split seconds chronograph operated through the crown and a button in the band, 3 knuckle hinged case. Dial and movement signed and numbered, case and cuvette numbered, case and cuvette stamped with the maker’s mark ‘RN’ for Robert North and London date letter for 1912, pendant stamped ‘CH’.
