An English silver open faced pocket chronometer, circa 1828. Gilt finished full plate chain and fusée movement, Arnold spring detent escapement, freesprung bimetallic balance with compensation weights, blued steel helical hairspring, diamond endstone. Silver cuvette. White enamel dial with Roman numerals and subsidiary seconds. Plain case. Dial and movement signed, case and cuvette stamped with maker’s mark ‘TH’ for Thomas Hardy and London date letter for 1825. Comes with fitted wooden box.
