A fine French 18 carat rose gold and enamel open faced verge watch with date, circa 1780. Gilt finished verge movement, chain fusée, plain three armed brass balance. White enamel dial with Arabic numerals and outer red Arabic date ring with central hand. Hinged case back centred by a polychrome enamel classical scene, surrounded by white champlevé enamel rural scenes. Movement signed and numbered, dial signed.
