An exceptional and unique German 18 carat gold skeletonized two train minute repeating grande and petite sonnerie open faced keyless lever clock watch, circa 1911. Quality 1A 3/4 plate German silver two train fully jewelled lever movement wound by turning the crown to either side, screwed gold chatons, bimetallic compensation balance with gold poising screws, gold lever and escape wheel, finely engraved balance cock, swan neck regulator with diamond endstone, minute repeating and grande and petite sonnerie striking on two polished steel hammers onto two gongs. Glazed dial with Roman numerals and outer railway minute divisions in the German national colours black, red and gold, blued steel spade hands, etched gilt Arabic inscription reading Ahmed Kheir Bashi below 12 o’clock and subsidiary seconds. Heavy plain case, glazed back, repeating slide and Grande Sonnerie/Petite Sonnerie lever in the right band, silence/striking lever in the left side. Dial signed, movement signed and numbered.
