A fine, rare and attractive Swiss 18 carat gold, enamel and pearl set pendant watch with matching brooch, circa 1896. Retailed by J.J. Freeman & Co., Toledo, Ohio. Nickel finished jewelled lever movement, bimetallic compensation balance, wolf’s tooth winding. Gold cuvette. White enamel dial with green Roman numerals separated by gold stars, gilt Arabic five minute divisions and gold Louis XV hands. Case with pearl set bezel and bow, hinged back centred by a finely detailed translucent green enamel over the guilloché image of a chimera, pearl set border. Comes with an associated 14 carat gold, green enamel and pearl set palmette form brooch. Case and movement signed by maker and retailer and numbered, dial signed by maker.
