A fine Swiss 18 carat vari coloured gold and enamel open faced verge watch, circa 1780. Gilt finished verge movement, chain fusée, finely pierced and engraved scroll decorated balance cock. White enamel dial with Roman numerals and gilt Louis XV hands, outer Arabic five minute divisions. Case with chased and embossed bezel and rim with applied vari coloured gold floral decoration in high relief, reverse centred by a polychrome enamel scene depicting ‘Leda and the Swan’, stamped with casemaker’s mark ‘PIG’.
