An English 18 carat gold hunting cased minute repeating keyless lever watch, circa 1873. 3/4 Plate gilt finished jewelled lever movement, bimetallic compensation balance with gold poising screws, minute repeating on two polished steel hammers onto two gongs. Gold cuvette engraved Charles Whitney from Modoo Suduu Sirrar Calcutta. White enamel dial with Roman numerals and subsidiary seconds. Plain case, engraved initials GW to the front, repeating slide in the band. Case and cuvette stamped CF 04650, with casemaker’s initials G.A.P. and London date letter for 1873, dial and movement signed and numbered.
