Unusual pair cased quarter repeater by Thomas Colley

A fine and unusual English 18 carat gold and enamel pair cased quarter repeating cylinder watch, circa 1741 and 1770. Gilt finished cylinder movement, chain fusée, finely pierced and engraved foliage decorated balance cock, diamond endstone, chased and engraved foliage decorated foot, quarter repeating on two hammers onto a bell, gilt dust cover. White enamel dial with Roman numerals and outer Arabic five minute divisions. Inner case with finely pierced and engraved scroll and foliage decorated band, silent repeat push-piece underneath the bezel, repeating through the pendant, outer case with blue and white champlevé enamel floral and foliage decoration. Inner case numbered 973 stamped with casemaker’s initials IW and London date letter for 1741, movement and dust cap signed Graham’s succr. Tho. Colley, outer case stamped with casemaker’s initials DA.
