Scarab form keywound cylinder pendant watch

A fine and attractive Swiss 18 carat gold, enamel and diamond set scarab form key wound pendant watch, circa 1880. An oval shaped, gilt finished cylinder movement. Gold cuvette. Small, concealed white enamel dial with Roman hour numerals, an outer minute track and spade hands. The scarab shaped case with black champlevé enamel decorated sides, a realistically modelled reverse with a glazed compartment on the inside, diamond set, engine turned black and translucent scarlet enamel decorated wings, opening to reveal the dial, a black enamel and diamond set chased head, the eyes also set with diamonds.
