A fine, rare and attractive Swiss 18 carat gold and enamel open faced two train musical automaton watch, circa 1815. Keywound two train cylinder movement, musical pin barrel with 10 vibrating steel blades, music and automaton activated by depressing a button in the band. Eccentric engine turned gilt dial with Breguet numerals on blank chapter ring, finely painted polychrome enamel classical landscape view, applied vari-coloured gold automaton scene depicting a couple playing a flute and a harp in unison with the music. Plain case, ribbed band.
