A Swiss 18 carat gold and enamel open faced keyless lever pendant watch, circa 1898. Retailed by J.E. Caldwell. Jewelled lever movement. Gold cuvette. White enamel dial with Arabic numerals, outer calibrated red Arabic five minute divisions and subsidiary seconds. American case with polychrome enamel portrait of two lady’s to the back, one with mandolin, the second with sheet music in a pastoral landscape, outer blue enamel border and bezel. Movement signed by watchmaker and retailer, dial and case signed by retailer, movement numbered.
