A French 18 carat rose gold, enamel and pearl set open faced verge, circa 1810-1820. Gilt finished full plate verge movement, chain fusée, pierced and engraved balance cock, three armed balance. White enamel dial with Roman numerals and black Arabic quarter hours. Later enamel case back with polychrome enamel portrait of Icarus within a gilt border on white enamel ground, brown and cream enamel striped background, outer white enamel and gilt border, bezel and rim set with pearls. Dial and movement signed.
