A rare, large American silver Series II hunting cased key wound lever pocket watch, circa 1858. Gilt finished jewelled lever movement, bimetallic compensation balance, Mershon’s patent regulator, split plate. Silver cuvette. White enamel dial with Roman numerals, sunken subsidiary dials and blued steel spade hands. Polished case, engraved basket and floral motif to the front, coin edged band. Movement signed and numbered, case stamped C.E.H. & Co. for Charles E. Hale, case and cuvette numbered.
