An exceptional English 18 carat gold and enamel open faced centre seconds duplex pocket watch made for the Chinese market, circa 1800-1820. Finely chased and engraved floral and scroll decorated gilt finished keywound duplex movement. Polished cuvette. White enamel dial with Roman numerals, outer calibrated seconds ring and centre seconds. Case to the back with finely painted enamel scene of Titus and Berenice in a classical landscape, polychrome champlevé enamel floral and geometrical decorated bezel, rim, pendant and bow. Movement signed Ilbery London 6031.
