A rare and impressive American 18 carat gold, diamond, ruby and sapphire set hunting cased minute repeating keyless lever split seconds chronograph watch, circa 1900. 3/4 Plate nickel finished jewelled lever movement, bimetallic compensation balance, minute repeating on two hammers onto a gong, activated through a slide in the band. Gilt dial with champlevé stylized green enamel Arabic numerals, green enamel calibrated fifths seconds ring, sunken subsidiary dial for constant seconds and blued steel Breguet hands. Heavy, impressive engraved two tone gold case, back with floral and scroll motif, front cover with scroll monogram, enhanced with diamonds, cabochon rubies and sapphires, bow and pendent with geometric design, split seconds chronograph operated through the crown and a button in the band. Cuvette, dial and movement signed, cuvette and movement numbered.
