A fine and rare American 14 carat multi colour gold and hardstone hunting cased box hinge keyless lever watch, circa 1883. Nickel finished 3/4 plate damascened jewelled lever movement, dog grade, raised gold jewel settings, swan neck regulator. 14 Carat gold cuvette. White enamel dial with Roman numerals, outer minute track, sunken subsidiary dial for constant seconds and blued steel umbrella hands. Chased and engraved case, the front engine turned with polished central plaque, multi colour gold leaf motif, all within a multi colour gold star motif, the back cover with horse head, multi colour gold star motif, enhanced with red hardstone, outer rim, band and bezel with engraved scroll motif, box hinge back. Case, dial and movement signed, case, cuvette and movement numbered.
