A Swiss gilt and enamel open faced keywound cylinder watch made for the Chinese market, circa 1880. Keywound cylinder movement. Gilt cuvette. White enamel dial with Roman numerals and subsidiary seconds. Case with milled band, the reverse with a blue champlevé enamel shield motif to the centre of the translucent green enamel on engine turned ground, with blue, black and red champlevé enamel border. Dial and movement signed, cuvette and case numbered, case stamped with Chinese characters for Hang-dah-le or Hengdali.
