A fine French gold, enamel, pearl and paste set open faced pair cased keywound quarter repeating à toc verge watch, circa 1800. Gilt finished full plate verge movement, chain fusée, à toc quarter repeating on the case. White enamel dial with Arabic numerals, paste set hands and bezel, the reverse with painted polychrome enamel miniature of three toddlers playing in the fields, to the blue, yellow and black enamel borders, paste set bow, the outer case with split pearl set bezels, the reverse enhanced by a ring of translucent blue enamel on engine turned ground. Dial and movement signed, case stamped 3683.
