Gold open faced cylinder pocket watch

Extremely rare and fine Swiss, 18K gold, two-train, jump-hour, independent dead-seconds Compteur Militaire pocket watch, circa 1835. With provision for jumping at different speeds. The back with engraved foliate monogram, flat engine-turned band, bolt at 4 o’clock for start/stop of the dead seconds, and pin at 6 for change of the jumping speed. Hinged gilt metal cuvette. Silver, engine-turned dial, aperture for the jump hours at the top, eccentric minute and dead-seconds chapter below, aperture at 7 for indications of the number of jumps per minute. Gold lozenge hand. A frosted gilt movement, two-train brass calibre, cylinder escapement, three-arm gold balance with flat balance spring, and an index regulator.
